Mauritius has a new Female President! So what?

  1. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim
  2. Bibi Ameenah Firdaus Gurib-Fakim, GCSK, CSK, PhD is a Mauritian Biodiversity Scientist who serves as President of the Republic of Mauritius. As such, she is the Head of State and Commander in Chief of the Republic of Mauritius. Wikipedia

How can she fill my stomach and suppress my hunger?

    Ahhh ok!

Apple Announces OS X 10.11 - El Capitan. Yet another OS X Version.

Since last year, Apple has changed the nomenclature of the Macintosh Operating System from Big Cats (Cheetah-10.0, Puma-10.1, Jaguar-10.2, Panther-10.3, Tiger-10.4, Leopard-10.5, Snow Leopard-10.6, Lion-10.7, Mountain Lion-10.8...Sea Lion (Just Kidding, there was no Sea Lion)) to Mavericks-10.9, Yosemite-10.10 and... EL CAPITAN (Ver 10.11) coming soon. These are nature places in California, El Capitan being a vertical rock formation in Yosemite National Park (see more below from Wikipedia).

For those trying to keep pace with the latest Apple Certifications, this is literally pain in the ass. But for users this is very exciting. Even Microsoft cannot keep pace. They have jumped from Windows 8 to Windows 10 to try keeping pace with OS X releases but still cannot manage, Apple has already announced OSX 10.11 before M$ releases Windows 10.

El Capitan is a vertical rock formation in Yosemite National Park, located on the north side of Yosemite Valley, near its western end. The granite monolith extends about 3,000 feet (900 m) from base to summit along its tallest face, and is one of the world's favorite challenges for rock climbers and BASE jumpers.

Personally, i'm not expecting big noticeable change from Yosemite to El Capitan (since El Capitan is inside Yosemite National Park ;-))

But a few fine tuning of Yosemite is most welcomed. For e.g You can ask an informal question in Spotlight instead of typing boring keywords. It's more like talking to Siri. Swipe to delete in Apple Mail like in IOS is another example of small improvements that mere mortals enjoys a lot even though there is nothing exciting about this.

Ok I'll catch you later on the next Apple Announcement.

In the mean time enjoy Apples. An Apple a day keeps the PC away!

Counteracting the Thermonuclear War!

Counteracting the Thermonuclear War!

In the official Biography of Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson, Chapter 39, "New Battles And Echoes of Old Ones" the following quote is interesting while trying to understand the "battle" of Apple V/S Google.

Quote:

Our lawsuit is saying, “Google, you fucking ripped off the iPhone, wholesale ripped us off.” Grand theft. I will spend my last dying breath if I need to, and I will spend every penny of Apple’s $40 billion in the bank, to right this wrong. I’m going to destroy Android, because it’s a stolen product. I’m willing to go to thermonuclear war on this. They are scared to death, because they know they are guilty. Outside of Search, Google’s products—Android, Google Docs—are shit.

End of Quote

Apple is still fighting today even after Jobs, but there's still lots of money remaining in the $40 Billion pool. The "thermonuclear" war hasn't and will probably not take place be it because of SJ is not here or because of other strategic reasons. There'll be more small fights instead of a big war. It'a a Goliath V/S Goliath battle.

In the mean time, Google is conquering the iOS with lots of Apps. My latest count is 22 iOS apps developed by Google Inc. With the exception of Google Maps, there are plenty of other apps developed by the enemy, lurking around in the iTunes Apps Store. It's a clear strategy. Google wants to take control of your iPhone.

These are the iOS apps developed by Goooliath, i mean Google:

Android is shit, for sure, as it's a stolen product, but other products of Google are worth a try except Orkut which is shit as well!

Imagine having all these apps installed on your iPhone, they can take up more than one page considering that one page on the iphone 4/4S can gather up to 16 apps. It may happen that you forget that you are using an Apple product. It's rare to have Google addicts fan of Apple. If you know one send me his name/email address/phone number because it's kinda rare.

While waiting for Google Maps to enter the Apps Store, lets see how the war proceeds on.

Steve Jobs Keynote on iPad 2 and other releases...competitors flummoxed!

Steve Jobs, Apple Inc. CEO, stunned everybody present at the Keynote by appearing on stage. He's supposed to be on special medical leave, but as he said "We've been working on this product for a while, and I didn't want to miss today so..."

Steve Jobs attacked the competitors of his iPad crudely and affirmed that competitors are "Flummoxed"!

Here are some of the main points he developed:

ø - iBooks: Over 100 million books downloaded

ø - Just crossed 200 million iTunes Store accounts

ø - Over $2 billion paid out to App Store developers.

ø - Recently shipped 100 millionth iPhone.

ø - 2010 was the year of the iPad. Sold almost 15 million of them in just nine months.

ø - Over 65,000 iPad apps available

iPad 2:

ø - New chip: The Apple A5. Dual-core, up to 2x faster. Graphics up to 9x faster

ø - Front- and rear-facing cameras, built-in gyroscope, 33% thinner than iPad 1. 8.8 mm vs. 13.4 mm.
